Written on July 31st, 2010 by Ross Everettno shouts
On a cold, gray morning in late January 2000, the historic Mapes Hotel in Reno was imploded by 75 pounds of explosives tucked into the art-deco structures support columns. The controlled demolition came despite years of effort by a number of groups within the community and nationally to preserve the building with lawsuits, redevelopment proposals, and grass roots lobbying efforts.

Written on July 31st, 2010 by Ross Everettno shouts
A day after failing to make weight for his fight against Matt Hughes, Thiago Alves dominated the former UFC welterweight champion en route to a 2nd round TKO victory. The main event at UFC 85 in London was somewhat anticlimactic to the fans at the O2 Arena who considered the semifinal matchup between Manchester’s Michael Bisping and Jason Day the biggest fight on the card.

Written on July 31st, 2010 by Ross Everettno shouts
The good news for the Kansas City Chiefs as they prepare for the start of the NFL regular season is that their starting quarterback is back at practice. The bad news is that they still don’t know when hell be able to play. Matt Cassel returned to the Chiefs practice field on Monday for the first time since he injured his left knee in a NFL preseason game on August 29th. Still, there’s been no confirmation from either he or the team as to when hell return to action. The Chiefs don’t want to take any chances with Cassel due to the inexperience of their backup QB corps.

Often, people will look only at hotels when planning to visit a vacation destination. The Goonies Is A Great Film

Written on July 22nd, 2010 by Bobby Colonno shouts
Goonies Forever! If you grew up in the eighties, then no doubt you have fond memories of watching this movie over and over until the VHS tape finally wore out and snapped. If you haven’t seen it yet for whatever reason, think of it like… Captain Blood meets Indiana Jones meets Stand By Me meets Goodfellas. It really does have a little something from everything in terms of movie genres, and it’s definitely a classic as far as movie downloads go.

UFC Flashback: Ultimate Fight Night Features Lauzon Vs. Stephens

Written on July 17th, 2010 by Ross Everettno shouts
Ever since he burst onto the MMA scene with a shocking first round KO upset of Jens Pulver at UFC 63, Joe Lauzon has been working to earn respect. For some reason hes had trouble being taken seriously as a top contender in the UFCs lightweight division. He may not fit the classical profile of a fighter, looking more like a fresh faced kid and is often referred to as a geek due to his educational background in computer science. In the main event at the UFC Ultimate Fight Night in Tampa, Lauzon withstood a game challenge from late replacement Jeremy Stephens to earn a 2nd round submission victory.

Washington Offense In A State Of Flux

Written on July 17th, 2010 by Ross Everettno shouts
The Washington Redskins are a mess right now. Head coach Jim Zorn has a tenuous hold on his job at best and after Sunday’s—6 loss to Kansas City was stripped of his offensive play calling duties. Management installed newly hired ‘offensive consultant’ Sherman Lewis as the new offensive play caller and the team has set up an awkward arrangement for him to get the plays to the quarterbacks. For that reason, starting QB Jason Campbell has some serious misgivings about the efficacy of the setup.

Written on July 15th, 2010 by Ross Everettno shouts
It may only be preseason in the NFL, but the Atlanta Falcons are making a statement that they’ll be a factor in the NFC. The Falcons starters behind QB Matt Ryan were almost flawless, and left the reserves with a 14-0 lead before eventually beating the St. Louis Rams 20-13 at the Edward Jones Dome on Friday night.

Film Downloads Should Not Be Pirated

Written on July 13th, 2010 by Mari Tillmanno shouts
It has happened to all of us. Even though you have the greatest of cable packets, you run all the channels from 1 to 99, 999 and there is still nothing to watch. You continue your search through the DVD library and there is nothing there either. You know that a really good movie was just released on DVD, but do not want to waste the energy to go pick up a copy. Here is a great idea, movie downloads.
